Share Your Thoughts About the Future of Washington Park.
As Ruth Shelly presented on November 21, Portland Parks & Recreation has spent more than a year engaging the community in developing a master plan for Washington Park. The draft plan shows that in 15 years, Portland Children’s Museum will have relocated. Please note that Parks is not asking that the Museum move, but rather preparing us for the probability that our lease will not be renewed when it expires in 14 years. Please read the letter from Portland Parks Director Mike Abbaté and Ruth Shelly here, which expresses their gratitude to Rotary Club of Portland for what will be three decades of growth at the Museum’s current facility. Rotarians can view the master plan and join the public in sharing their thoughts by completing a survey between now and Thursday, November 30, 2017, posted online at: portlandoregon.gov/parks/waparkmasterplan
