OPB and the future of Public Media

Steve Bass has served as president and CEO of Oregon Public Broadcasting since 2006. OPB is a nationally recognized leader in public media, providing news, information and entertainment to the Northwest. With award-winning journalists and original series, OPB illuminates the people, places and issues of the region and puts stories into context. OPB creates content and programming that can be accessed anywhere, at any time on OPB TV, OPB Radio, opb.org and on a variety of digital and social media platforms. Steve currently serves on the boards of Public Radio International/PRX and Greater Public; worked previously at Nashville Public Television, WGBH/Boston, WGBY/Springfield, MA, and PBS; holds a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University and a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin’s Graduate School of Business; and is an active chamber musician and serves as principal clarinetist with the Oregon East Symphony in Pendleton.
