Sam Sachs is a Portland native, graduating  from Portland State University with a degree in Black Studies.

He worked in law enforcement and public safety for over 20 years, most recently as a Portland Park Ranger.

He served as the chair of The Community and Police Relations Committee while serving as a Human Rights Commissioner for the City of Portland.

Sam is currently a member of the Mayor of Portland Oregon’s PCCEP committee (Portland Committee on Community Engaged Policing) tasked with addressing the Department of Justices settlement agreement.,

Sam founded a non-profit called The No Hate Zone, focused on ending hate and racism in Portland through education, community engagement and advocacy. https://www.thenohatezone.com/
