John Waterman was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. After high school, he went into Intelligence Operations with the Air Force, later becoming a recruiter. Since then, he has spent his years in a multitude of management positions, from memorabilia stores in San Francisco to political campaigns.

Waterman collects Rotary History. Six months ago he came across the scrapbook of Estes “Pete” Snedicor of Rotary Club of Portland, and International President of 1920-21 Rotary year. Snedicor was the Rotary International President for the first International Convention held outside of the USA, and the scrapbook represents his time at the convention.
