Polio Immunizations in India

Since January 2011, there has been only ONE new confirmed case of polio in India.  In 2012, India was removed from the list of polio endemic countries.  We are getting remarkably close to eradicating polio globally.  Therefore, this might be one of the last opportunities we will have to organize a trip to India to participate in polio National Immunization Days (NID) activities.  This trip offers you and the Rotarians in your club and District an extraordinary opportunity to have an experience of a life time.   The following summarizes the key trip information:...

Hi guys! It's one of my very few free afternoons and I thought I'll take the chance and write to you. I'm writing one email, so I don't have to write fo r each one. Overall, I'm doing really well. It's been already 6 months at home. It's crazy how time flies by. I can't deny that I love being here again. Where do I start ... First, I'll tell you about school cause unfortunately it takes up a lot of time right now. I'm a Junior now and it's supposed to be the most time-consuming grade. I tell you, it is. It's horrible. On my trip to Rio we will be visiting the iconic Copacabana beach, Ipanema beach, Sugar Loaf Mountain, and of course, Christ the Redeemer....

A Response to Recent Domestic Violence in the Media

As a representative of your Rotary club’s Domestic Violence Solutions committee, and in anticipation of Domestic Violence Awareness month in October, I want to briefly talk about what you may be seeing come to light in the media recently. I’m sure you are aware of the dialogue going on around NFL player Ray Price and the security video footage that shows him hitting, and knocking his then-fiancé – now wife - unconscious. The public response has been encouraging in that there is a discussion in social media not just about the horrific incident caught on tape –...
