Ryan Buchanan is CEO of eROI, a digital marketing agency, which he founded to inspire and be inspired by partnering with great clients like Aramark, Kaiser Permanente, Nike, and Taco Bell. He is utterly fascinated with solving marketing problems and always goes back to the business goal, asking "why?" to get to the core of the issue. His philosophy is all about stepping into client's shoes with a business mindset first with a competitive desire to drive amazing results for clients - after all, ROI (return on investment) is 75% of their name. He has a marketing mindset with an innate curiosity to stay ahead of the frenetic pace of growth in digital marketing channels and trends. He is an entrepreneur with early experience growing an email marketing agency into a full digital agency focused on strategic planning and creative execution of digital campaigns.
Through Buchanan's leadership, eROI was named an Inc. 500 company nationally and was recognized as one of the Most Admired Companies in Oregon by a Portland Business Journal survey of 2,000 CEOs in the state. Buchanan currently serves as the Chairman of the Greater Portland 2020 Council – setting a vision for the Greater Portland region for a shared economic prosperity for all residents, not just the usual suspects. He is also incoming President of Entrepreneurs Organization- Portland (EO), and runs the Strategy Committee on the Board of Friends of the Children and has recently served on the Board of Technology Association of Oregon (TAO), Oregon Entrepreneurs Network (OEN), and Portland Ad Federation (PAF). Buchanan also co-founded a non-profit called Emerging Leaders Internship (ELI) which connects underrepresented college students and college graduates to opportunities in top Portland companies and improves their access to leadership development.
Buchanan was named as the Portland Business Journal’s ’40 Under 40,’ an award that recognizes city leaders under 40 years old. He was also named by Oregon Business magazine as one of “the 50 Great Leaders for Oregon - 50 who fix it, move it, build it, change it and get it done right.” Buchanan was named as 2013 Marketer of the Year by American Marketing Association Oregon Chapter.
