Reflections on Public Service

As Metro Council President for the past eight years, Mr. Bragdon has represented the over one and a half million people of the entire metropolitan region. The Metro Council is their elected government responsible for planning for the future, protecting natural areas, handling solid waste and recycling, and managing regional facilities including the Oregon Zoo, Oregon Convention Center, and Expo Center.

Through all of his initiatives, Mr. Bragdon has created an environment of regional collaboration among local governments and non-governmental agencies, businesses and citizens to implement the region's plans and build a sustainable region.
